Zak and Nik are the original Lotsofwalks dogs … and the inspiration for the whole dog walking business. Both cross collie/shepherds Nik is the calmer of the two, and as older dog the more dominant, Zak is the young pretender, a bit giddy and not overly fond of other dogs – his bark is generally worse than his bite and he can be off lead with all dogs as long as he is kept very much ON LEAD for the initial meet and greet. Together they love long rambling walks, the muddier the better, and ranging over parks and woodland. Zak loves to chase balls and sticks – Nik wants to chase birds! Both are very much in awe of Joe the cat, top “dog” in our house and a regular walking companion.
Barney is a black labrador who loves to run and play, swim when he can and is a happy and well behaved dog- for the most part. However, he likes to roll in anything he can find that’s disgusting- fox, horse and other dog poo- he doesn’t care. If anyone knows how to stop this behaviour PLEASE PLEASE contact us!
Monty, a flat coat retriever is Barney’s partner in crime. Although they are from different households they get on beautifully and are well matched in size and disposition, they can rough and tumble for the full hour of their walks, BUT, if Monty sees a ball – thats it – his whole focus goes – he can get three balls in his mouth at one time and loves to evade you when he has his “prize/s”. a lovely soft dog he can generally always be persuaded by treats!
Ben, is a gentle lovable rogue! He’s a young Collie cross and has the sweetest nature and biggest smile of all dogs. He loves nothing more that chasing around a park for hours on end and never tires. Hes a very clever boy and loves to ’shake hands’ with everyone he meets! His best friend is Billy…..
Billy is a super soft Border Collie who, after starting off as a very nervous dog, is gradually coming out of his shell. He now has the waggiest bum I’ve ever seen!
Stan, the man!! And what a gorgeous Boxer he is! He can be a handful on his lead, he’s so excited to be going for his walks that he drags us all the way there! Once hes off his lead hes a delight to walk. He loves nothing more than running and playing with Riley. The pair of them run and chase each other for a full hour! He’s just getting used to his swimming legs and will often go for a paddle in the River Mersey.
Branston, winner of most appealing face on any dog. A mix of Basset Hound and Staffie he was found as a stray and his owner adopted him from the Manchester Dogs Home. Hes a big old softie and we always get a great big kiss when we go to pick him up. For a dog with such short legs, he can run really fast!!!
Ebony and Molly are from the same home and are best friends. They love nothing more than chasing a ball then arguing over it for the next half hour! Molly loves a good chin tickle and likes to go up to strangers for a cuddle. Ebony likes a cuddle too but she sometimes needs a little more persuasion!!
Riley is a beautiful young Irish Red Setter boy who just loves to run and play. Puddles, and puddles with other dogs in are his two favourite things! He’s a gorgeous, cheeky boy who can sometimes be a handful but never fails to make us laugh with his comical antics.
Sammie is a beautiful shepherd cross who loves to play, is very good off lead and can catch anything you throw before it hits the ground! she is very alert and loves other dogs though she can be initially wary. Once she knows the new dog is a “friend” there’s no stopping her.
Charlie is a real character- rescued from Hungary if he manages to get off his lead you’ve to give up the best part of your day trying to capture him while he runs rings around you laughing. He has the biggest whitest teeth ever but not an ounce of malice in him, only mischief.
Spike & Daisy are housemates – little dogs with big personalities (Spike thinks he’s a rottweiller at times and Daisy is beyond cute). Both love walks and the greeting every day is lovely.
Ben & Molly again housemates and two of the first dogs taken on by Lotsofwalks- both are regular boarders and are well loved by the lotsof team. Molly is failing in eyesight now and can “lose” you from 3feet away, Ben loves to be chased and will run in ever decreasing circles till you do it again.
Larry the labrador- can run for hours, loves everyone and everything he meets but likes to demolish snowmen with big bites.
Sam and Molly housemates with a difference – a flat coat retriever and a Jack Russell, Sam loves to swim and Molly likes to watch him. Her party piece is trying to slip her lead (to get to her favourite walk faster perhaps?)Once on her walk the lead is off and she charges about trying to bite Sams back leg wherever possible.
Royston the Red Setter is an occasional visitor, only needing walks on an as and when basis, he’s always a delight to watch as he gangles around the park, all legs.
Dylan is a beautiful Border collie, of unusual colouring, who loves to swim, and play with other dogs. He is very good natured and obedient and strikes all the typical collie poses on his walks. He is admired by everyone who meets him on his walks.
